The University of Delaware Institute for Public Administration (IPA) seeks to link the research capacity and resources of the University of Delaware with the management and information needs of local, state and regional governments in the Delaware Valley. IPA provides assistance to agencies and local governments through direct staff assistance and research projects as well as training programs and policy forums. The University of Delaware Water Resources Agency (WRA) in IPA provides water resources assistance to state and local governments and the public in Delaware and the Delaware Valley through the University's service, education, and research roles. The Delaware Geological Survey (DGS) mission is, by statute, geologic and hydrologic research and exploration, and dissemination of information through publication and public service. Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) is the guardian of water resources in Delaware and is responsible for the regulation and allocation of public drinking water supplies through the Division of Water Resources.
