TASK 1.1 - WATERSHED COORDINATION

The Chester County Water Resources Authority (CCWRA), Brandywine Valley Association (BVA), and the Institute for Public Administration-Water Resources Agency (IPA-WRA) at the University of Delaware (UD), in cooperation with the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), coordinated the following meetings of the Christina Basin Clean Water Partnership. The purpose of the meetings were to discuss the progress of the EPA Watershed Initiative Grant in both states and coordinate with the progress of the high flow TMDL which was completed by USEPA Region III in early 2005.

In addition, the Christina Basin Coordinating Committee is scheduling a series of coordinating meetings for the balance of 2005. The main agenda for these meetings is intended to be:
- Progress of the USEPA Christina Basin Watershed Initiative Grant Projects
- Christina Basin High Flow TMDLs
- Bi-state Christina Basin Implementation Strategy (to implement the TMDLs)
- Future watershed funding needsFuture meetings dates are below:

The DRBC's primary focus of the coordination efforts during this period is to provide support to financial partners to enable the projects to commence. A direct disbursement as start-up money was made to Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC). Redistribution of funds is being made that require the written consent of each of the parties as well as the execution of the Delaware Nature Society as a new Partner in the project. EPA approved these changes. Currently, DRBC is awaiting the receipt of the Partners' signatures.· Chester County Conservation District (CCCD) and CCWRA participated in several conference calls coordinating the grant. Several attempts were made to hold policy committee meetings but were cancelled due to inclement weather or scheduling conflicts. · DRBC coordinated changes to the Christina Basin Clean Water Strategy Phase VI - Watershed Initiative Grant's MOA.· The Delaware Nature Society was added as a signatory party to the MOA for the Implementation of the Christina Basin Clean Water Strategy Phase VI - Watershed Initiative Grant.
